On behalf of our client, an International 5 star resort in the Maldives we invite you to apply for the position as:
A brand new 5 star deluxe high end project opening early 2011. Two Phase project with 84 keys in phase 1 and 60 keys in phase 2. Each phase on separate islands, close to each other.
The Key Responsibilities of the General Manager are as follows:
To manage the pre opening Master Critical Paths and take a lead role in ensuring the resort opens on time, within budget and to the extremely high standards expected of a luxury 5 star property property.
Collaborate with all levels of management, support teams and contractors to ensure there is a perfect synergy, organisation and due process in rolling out the projects Critical Tasks/Paths.
Set and maintain very high standards of operations throughout the Resort
Once open, ensure a very high level of guest satisfaction.
Ensure staff efficiencies and welfare are managed in the highest order
Control Pre Opening and Opening expenditures to/within budget limits.
Drive Best in Class HR Management
To be able to assist and support the Sales & Marketing planned actions
Create a great team ethic whereby you and the leadership lead by example
Report accurately and in a timely manner on the activities of the Resort.
Professional qualifications:
Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management or higher. As well as certification in key areas of management training and development.
Length and type of experience:
At least 8 years experience in Luxury Hotel Operations & various Management positions with a minimum of 4 years General Management experience.
Pre Opening experience will be considered as a priority
Experience working in top international resorts, with refined personalised guest service and standards in multi cultural locations will constitute a definite advantage.
Additional skills:
Language: Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of a second language would be very beneficial

Marital status:
The property is a 40minute seaplane ride from Male, so adaptation to Island lifestyle critical.
Due to island location preferably Single but will also consider other status if applicant can accept island life (excellent GM accommodation provided)
Contract start date and duration:
September 2010 contract will be minimum 2 years
